You can buy Rat Traps for 1000
traps per gold piece. If you have Rat Man Jack and enough
Rat Traps to stop all the rats, none will get through to your
grain. There is a random number of 1-3 rats per acre of
land you own.
Set Up Gambling Ring Takes
10000 Gold, but it's only a one time investment. Between
10% and 90% of your population will pay 1 to 12 gold on
gambling, and you can receive a % equal to the taxrate you set.
Set Tax Rate lets you set the
taxrate between 1% and 15%. The more the taxrate the less
peasants are likely to play, the less the taxrate, the more
likely they are to play. Tip:
6-8% is about the happy medium on this, though results are
random from year to year.
Every year before the King's
Menu is shown it will show how many traps Rat Man Jack used to
kill rats, and tells you how many are left. If the number
of rats that year were greater than the number of traps Jack
had, they may still get into the grain, yet not all of them
(decided by number of rats-number rats killed/total number
rats). So if there are 1000 rats that year, and you only
had 100 traps, then 900 rats have gotten by, and thus 90% of the
total amount of grain that would of been eaten is still eaten.
Tip: If
you do not have Rat Man Jack, the chances of Rats getting into
your grain is only a small percentage to start. As you
gain land, however, these chances begin to increase.
Starting at 1 in 12 for less than 100 acres, and going up to 1
in 4 for over 15000 acres. Getting Rat Man Jack as soon as
possible is a very good idea.
Rat Types:
Rats - Normal rats that are very
nasty and full of disease. Up to 2 feet long with their
tail, and may destroy up to 5% of your grain.
BlackRats - Larger cousins to the
Rat, these have black matted fur and are very mean spirited.
Can grow up to 3 feet long with their tail, and may destroy up
to 10% of your grain.
DragonRats - Called so for a small
leather spine that sticks up like a lizard's down their back, these things reach
a gigantic 5 feet long with their tail, and may destroy up to
20% of your grain.
Every year before the King's
Menu is shown it will show you the percentage of peasants that
played (10-90%), roughly that population that played, and how
much gold you gained from the previous year. Then it will
show you the same stats from the current year. Then it
will give you a tip or 2 on how to increase revenue. Taxes
are instantly placed in your gold coffers. You can keep
track of the total gold you have made under the King's
Menu>Specialists Menu.
